Nevada Driving Violation Points
Nevada uses a "Point Demerit System" as part of its driver improvement program. Under this system, traffic law violations are assigned a point value which varies depending on the nature and severity of the offense.
If the Department of Motor Vehicles receives a notice from a court that you have a traffic law violation conviction then it will enter the offense on your permanent driving record. Points are counted during a 12-month period. If you pay a traffic ticket then you are agreeing to the conviction and points will be added to your record.
When you are charged with a Nevada DUI you are usually also charged with any number of traffic violations. All of these charges combined can take a major toll on your driving record.
If you receive 12 points in any 12 month period your license can be automatically suspended.
Don't let this happen to you!
